Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota and Wisconsin Earn Weekly Volleyball Awards

Illinois’ Poulter, Maryland’s Rivas, Minnesota’s Rollins and Seliger-Swenson and Wisconsin’s Rettke earn weekly honors

 

Player of the Week

Dana Rettke, Wisconsin

MB – So. – Riverside, Ill. – Riverside-Brookfield

• Averaged 3.6 kills per set, a .531 hitting percentage and 1.62 blocks per set in wins against No. 5 Nebraska and Iowa over the weekend

• Tied her career best with 10 blocks versus the Huskers, recording the second double-double of her career with 12 kills

• Led all players with 17 kills against Iowa while hitting .739 with no hitting errors

• Earns her third career Player of the Week honor and first of the season

• Last Wisconsin Player of the Week: Grace Loberg (Sept. 4, 2018)

Defensive Player of the Week

Allegra Rivas, Maryland

L – Fr. – Aledo, Texas – Aledo

• Averaged 5.71 digs per set against No. 17 Purdue and Indiana

• Helped Maryland hit .306 as a team and averaged 7.00 digs per set in a three-set win over the Hoosiers

• Currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 4.65 digs per set this season

• Collects her second career Defensive Player of the Week accolade

Co-Setter of the Week

Jordyn Poulter, Illinois

• Led No. 7 Illinois to wins against No. 13 Michigan and Michigan State and helped the Illini to a .281 hitting percentage while also adding two aces and eight blocks

• Tallied 106 assists for 13.3 helpers per set over the weekend, while also adding 24 total digs

• Secured her 10th double-double of the season with 63 assists and 17 digs against the Wolverines

• Receives her seventh career Setter of the Week award and the fourth of the season

• Against Iowa, she posted four kills, 42 assists, two aces, 10 digs and two blocks while the Gophers hit .304 as a team

• Versus the Huskers, the senior added 47 assists, two aces and 13 digs

• Grabs her 16th career Setter of the Week award and fifth of the season
