INAUGURAL “CFP FLAG FOOTBALL SHOWCASE” COMING TO CFP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND
IN LAS VEGAS, JANUARY 22-24, 2027

IRVING, Texas – The College Football Playoff (CFP) today announced an activation with iFlag, the world’s premier flag football events and experiences company, to bring the sport of flag football to college football’s biggest stage as part of the 2027 CFP National Championship festivities in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Together, the CFP and iFlag will launch the inaugural CFP Flag Football Showcase, which will be an activation taking place inside CFP Fan Central from January 22-24 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The showcase will give athletes the opportunity to compete at one of the most celebrated events in all of sports, while they, their families and fellow fans immerse themselves in the excitement surrounding the CFP National Championship.

“Every year, CFP National Championship weekend brings together the biggest audience of our sport’s calendar, and we wanted flag football to be a part of that itinerary,” said Ryan Allen Hall, senior director of public events and sponsorships for the CFP. “The CFP Flag Football Showcase is our opportunity to introduce fans who are already tuned in to college football toward what’s next. There’s no bigger stage we could offer these athletes.”

CFP Fan Central is a free, family-friendly event that will also include games, clinics, pep rallies, special guest appearances, autograph signings and exhibits celebrating college football and its history.

“Working with the CFP represents another major milestone in the continued growth of flag football,” said Charles Davis, founder and CEO of iFlag. “The CFP has created one of the most exciting fan experiences in sports, and we’re honored to introduce flag football to that environment. Giving athletes the opportunity to compete inside CFP Fan Central while experiencing the pageantry, traditions, and excitement of college football’s biggest weekend is something truly special.”

Bringing iFlag to the CFP National Championship weekend creates a unique bridge between one of the country’s most iconic sporting events and one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Together, the CFP and iFlag will deliver an unforgettable experience that will reflect the unprecedented momentum of flag football across every level of competition. Participation continues to accelerate throughout the United States and across the globe as youth leagues expand, girls’ high school programs experience record growth, collegiate women’s competition rapidly develops, and adult men’s and women’s divisions continue to reach new levels of participation and competition. Communities everywhere are embracing flag football for its accessibility, inclusivity, athleticism, and fast-paced style of play.

Registration for the inaugural CFP Flag Football Showcase will open on Wednesday, September 16 at 7 p.m. ET. The showcase will be an open invitational, welcoming both men’s and women’s teams across a range of divisions, with registration available to both adult and youth teams alike.
