Indiana Wesleyan Advances Out of Liston Quadrant

SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE] – Indiana Wesleyan defeated Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) after securing a commanding 77-46 victory in the 2025 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship Quarterfinal round inside the Tyson Events Center.

From the onset, Indiana Wesleyan established control, leading each quarter. The Wildcats ended the first quarter with a 17-13 lead and maintained their advantage throughout, culminating in a powerful 25-point surge in the final quarter. Their balanced approach was evident in their shooting statistics, with a 36.7% field goal percentage and an impressive 41.2% from beyond the arc. At the free-throw line, they capitalized on their opportunities, converting 79.2% of their attempts.

Key contributors for IWU included Maddie Lawrence, who led all scorers with 21 points, hitting five of her 12 three-point attempts. Lilli Frasure also played a pivotal role, adding 22 points and demonstrating accuracy with 10 of 12 free throws. Taylor Folkema also contributed a double-digit performance with 14 points and led the team in rebounds with eight.

Freed-Hardeman struggled to find their rhythm against IWU’s defense, shooting 40.9% from the field and 43.8% from three-point range. Brooklyn Crouch was a standout for FHU, scoring 12 points, while Kelsey Bender contributed nine points and led her team with seven rebounds.

Indiana Wesleyan will continue in the Battle for the Red Banner on Monday, March 24, in the semifinals against the winner of Briar Cliff (Iowa) vs Governors State (Ill.).
