Indiana Wesleyan WBB falls in NAIA round of 16

SIOUX CITY, IA – No. 1-seed Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball’s season came to an end at the hands of the No. 4-seed Trojans of Dakota State University on Thursday evening, 76-65. Dakota State advances to face thee winner of Loyola (La.) and Carroll for a trip the the semifinals. IWU closes out the year with a 29-5 overall record.

  • NAIA Tournament Seed: IWU – #1 | DSU – #4
  • The Wildcats held a three-point advantage after the first frame. Jordan Reid and Lilli Frasure both had four points in the opening quarter.
  • The Trojan defense picked things up in the second, holding IWU to 11 points and taking a three-point lead into half.
  • Reid and Frasure kept the Wildcats in the game in the third, scoring all 16 of the team’s points.
  • IWU took the lead on an and-one from Reid in the fourth, but it was all Trojans the rest of the way, outscoring Indiana Wesleyan 28-19 in the final quarter.
