SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (14-3, 7-3 CCAC) dropped a close game to the Indiana University Northwest RedHawks (14-4, 7-3 CCAC) by a final score of 68-65 to snap their four game winning streak.

IU Northwest came out of the gates scoring early, taking a 9-2 lead halfway through the first quarter before the Titans answered with an 11-3 run to take the lead. Baskets were traded through the remainder of the first quarter putting the game tied at 16-16 through ten minutes of play.

The second quarter belonged to the Titans as the outscored the RedHawks 19-11 to take a 35-27 lead heading into halftime.

The second half was not friendly to IU South Bend as they lose the third quarter 19-12 but still managed to take a one point lead heading into the final period.

The fourth quarter was up for grabs for the duration of the period with both teams trading baskets and the Titans tying the game with under a minute and a half to good thanks to two clutch free throws from Sullivan Kessler. IU South Bend then took the lead on a pair of made free throws from Jazmen Watts. However, the RedHawks score the final five points of the game to escape the Student Activities Center with a narrow 68-65 win.

Another Titan to score in double figures was freshman guard Bradie Chambers who finished with 14 points. Chambers’ 14 points came with help from a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.

The last Titan to score in double figures was senior guard Sullivan Kessler who tied a season high with 10 points. Kessler’s 10 points came on better than 50% shooting from the field while also dishing out three assists and blocking a shot.
