GRANGER, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (12-24, 4-14 CCAC) dropped both games of their doubleheader to the University of Saint Francis Fighting Saints (18-14, 16-2 CCAC) by dropping game one 11-5 before falling in game two by a final score of 11-4.

Game 1

IU South Bend gained the lead in the bottom of the third inning when designated hitter Kaleb Farnham hit a two RBI single to score Logan Smith and Gabe Cortez giving the Titans a 2-0 lead through one inning of play.

A Saint Francis home run tied the game in the top of the second before IUSB responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame thanks to RBI singles from Logan Smith and Anthony Pohl.

A solo home run from third baseman Quinn Meier extended the Titans lead to 5-2 through three innings.

Two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth allowed the Fighting Saints to take the lead 7-5.

Four more Saint Francis runs on four hits gave them an 11-5 lead in the seventh. IU South Bend could not answer in the bottom half of the inning and ultimately dropped game one of the doubleheader.

Game 2

Game two remained scoreless through two innings before the Saint Francis offense exploded for nine runs on six hits to take a commanding lead.

A Josiah Nelson RBI single scored Jack Kienzle and Kaleb Farnham to cut the IUSB deficit to 9-2.

Two more runs in the fifth capped off the Saint Francis scoring before Titans catcher Anthony Pohl hit an RBI single in the bottom half of the inning to shorten their deficit to 11-3.

A ninth inning RBI double from Anthony Pohl brought IUSB a little closer but they could not score anymore and lost in game two by a final score of 11-4.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Friday, April 12th, when they host the Calumet College of Saint Joseph Crimson Wave at Rex Weade Stadium starting at 1:00 PM ET.
