SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (13-10, 10-5 CCAC) lost their CCAC match up to the Calumet College of Saint Joseph Crimson Wave (13-9, 8-7 CCAC) by a final score of 84-82, snapping their four game winning streak.

Even at 10-10 five minutes through the first half, IU South Bend opened up a seven point lead thanks to a 12-5 run to give the Titans an early 22-15 lead.

The Crimson Wave answered scoring the next nine points of the game to gain a two point advantage.

Tied at 27-27 IUSB jumped out to a lead, going on a 22-5 run to close out the first half and take a 49-32 lead heading into halftime.

Wednesday’s second half was unfriendly to the Titans as they were outscored by 19 points and suffered a comeback defeat at the hands of the Crimson Wave, falling by a final score of 84-82.

Nevertheless, a potent IU South Bend offense still managed to shoot 50% from the field and better than 40% from beyond the arc, with their leading scorer Nick Mullen finishing with a game high 20 points.

Mullen’s 20 points came on just one missed field goal (9-10) while also falling just two rebounds shy of double-double status with eight rebounds.

Another Titan to notch double figures was senior guard Quentez Columbus who finished with 18 points.

Columbus’ 18 points came on nearly 50% shooting from the field while falling just one assist shy of a double-double with nine assists. 18 points on Wednesday’s gives Columbus double digits in his last six games and at least 18 points in his last three games.

Other Titans to notch double figures in the scoring column were Collin Schmidt (12), Jylen Petty (11), and Deshon Burnett (11).

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to play on Saturday, January 8th when they take on the Saint Ambrose University Fighting Bees in Davenport, Iowa, at 4:00 PM ET.
