SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the recipients of the 2022-2023 Team Academic Excellence Award and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men’s college basketball teams and student-athletes.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognizes men’s basketball programs that completed the 2022-2023 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior, and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2022-2023 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The NABC’s academic awards include honorees from all levels of college basketball.
Senior IU South Bend Titan forwards Miles Tracy and Spencer Pettit were two of the 1,800 players across the country to be named to the NABC Honors Court. Tracy earned NABC Honors Court status by majoring in Interpersonal Communication and Spanish where Pettit took home NABC Honors Court selection while majoring in Organizational Communication.
As a team, the IU South Bend Titans earned the NABC Team Excellence Award by obtaining a team grade point average of over 3.0. The Titans were one of just 300 programs across all levels of college basketball to receive the honor and the only Indiana University campus to be selected.
