CHICAGO, Ill. – IU South Bend knocked down 17 three-pointers in a dominant road win on Monday night, as the Titans knocked off the host Roosevelt Lakers 92-59.

Five players finished in double figures for the Titans (19-6, 12-5 CCAC), led by Katie Gard’s game-high 18-point effort. Gard also pulled down eight rebounds and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the win.

Sara Doi tallied 16 points, and was one of four Titans to finish with three buckets from long range. Courtney Haynes nearly had a double-double, with 13 points and nine boards, while Maddy Schumacher and Rachel Robards each came off the bench for 11 points.

Following four quick points from Doi to open the game, Roosevelt (7-15, 6-12 CCAC) took a brief lead, scoring eight straight for an 8-4 edge midway through the first quarter. IUSB would regain the lead with back-to-back threes from Schumacher and Gard, 14-9 with 1:18 left in the opening period.

The home team would pull to within two points by the 7:10 mark of the second quarter, but the Titans would pull away before the close of the first half, scoring four straight buckets for an 11-0 run spanning just over 90 seconds of play. A pair of threes from Haynes highlighted the rally that put IUSB ahead 43-26, and the Titans would take a 14-point lead into the halftime break.

The Titans continued to pull away in the third quarter, as a three from Doi followed by a fast-break layup from Emma Fisher pushed the advantage to 20 points, 52-31 with 6:20 left in the third.

The win marks the fourth in the row for the Titans, and the sixth in their last seven contests. Next up for IUSB is a mid-week trip to Calumet; tipoff with the Crimson Wave is set for Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
