IUSB Women’s Soccer falls at home to Governors State

LAKEVILLE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (3-4-1, 0-2-0 CCAC) fell to the Jaguars of Governors State University by a final score of 5-1.

Senior forward Bruna Krushewsky started the scoring for Governors State when she found the back of the net in the 6th minute of Tuesday’s contest to give the Jaguars a 1-0 lead.

The first half remained scoreless after that, then the Jaguars hit their stride in the second half scoring four goals, the first by junior forward Morgan Bean to give Governors State a 2-0 lead.

Less than one minute later, Morgan Bean scored again to further the Jaguars lead to 3-0.

Sophomore midfielder Alyssa Karson scored in the 67th minute to extend the Governors State lead to 4-0.

The Jaguars capped off their scoring in the 68th minute of Tuesday’s CCAC matchup, when senior forward Bruna Krushewsky scored her second goal of the game to conclude the Governors State scoring.

IU South Bend got on the board in the 86th minute of the contest when sophomore midfielder Haylie Rodriguez found the back of the net to bring the Titans closer to striking distance, trailing 5-1.

The Titans ultimately fell to Governors State by a final score of 5-1.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Saturday, September 23rd, when they travel to La Crosse, Wis., to take on Viterbo University at 1:00 PM.
