SOUTH BEND — It was tough sledding for IU South Bend (2-6-1, 0-3-0 CCAC) on Wednesday, as the women’s soccer squad matched up against IU Northwest (4-2-4, 2-1-1 CCAC). The RedHawks stole the show in a 7-0 loss for the Titans.
Two early goals from the visitors put IU South Bend on the back foot in the first half. It did not get easier after the break, as the RedHawks tacked on five more in the second half.
Despite the tough outcome, the Titans put together seven shots, including three on-goal. Yulissa Gallegos, Olivia Enyeart, and Fatima Cervantes all attacked the goal and put the ball on frame but each one was stopped by the IU Northwest keeper.
Maddie Stark played all 90 minutes in goal for IUSB and made seven saves. Five more Titans also logged the full 90, including Gallegos, Mia Hoffman-Buczek, Audrey Campbell, Alex Chichester, and Enyeart.
