IUSB Women’s Volleyball continues late season surge

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (13-12, 11-3 CCAC) swept the Trinity Christian Trolls (3-26, 1-13 CCAC) by scores of 25-18, 25-8, 25-20.

The Titans of IU South Bend were led by Alexis Joyner who finished with nine kills on a hitting percentage of .538 and Abigail Seeger who also finished with nine kills on a hitting percentage of .444. Amber Jacobs was next in line with seven kills on a hitting percentage of .353

McKenzie Powell fell just short of double-double status with 30 assists and seven digs. Powell also put away all five of her attack attempts for a perfect .1000 hitting percentage.

Defensively, Suriya Van der Oord led the Titans with 11 digs and no receiving errors. Whitney Gessinger finished just behind Van der Oord for the IUSB team lead in digs with nine, while also adding two aces.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action in a pivotal contest on Saturday, October 29, at 8:00 against the Fighting Saints of Saint Francis, who currently sit just one game behind the Titans for third place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
