SOUTH BEND — IU South Bend made sure its final home match of the season ended with energy and precision, sweeping IU Northwest (25-15, 25-23, 25-19) inside the Student Activities Center. The win marked the Titans’ ninth sweep of the year — their most since 2021 — and pushed their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference record to 9-8.
The Titans jumped out fast in the opening set, using a 7-1 burst midway through to seize control. Jillian Bruckner and Alyssa Carson capped the run with back-to-back kills, putting the set out of reach. IU South Bend never trailed again and Ryleigh Grott sealed the 25-15 opener with three-straight kills in the late going.
Set two proved tighter, with 11 ties before the Titans broke through after being down, 20-16. The next eight points went the way of the Titans, as they took control and walked straight through to set-point. A kill from Emily Adams polished off the winning effort, 25-23.
In the third, the Titans erased an early 2-0 deficit by stringing together six-straight points on strong serving from Brynn Lake. IU South Bend never relinquished its lead and finished the sweep with a 25-19 win.
Bruckner was efficient and steady all evening, finishing with 12 kills on .429 hitting, while Grott matched her with 12 kills and 14.5 total points, also tallying a pair of blocks and an ace. Carson chipped in seven kills, and Maesch contributed five along with 10 digs.
Lake directed the attack with 30 assists and aided the backcourt with 15 digs, while Hanna once again led the defense with 24 digs. As a team, the Titans hit .203, tallied five aces, and posted 81 digs in the sweep.
With the regular-season finale on deck, IU South Bend will hit the road to face Trinity Christian on Thursday at 8:00 pm.
