IUSB Women’s Volleyball wins fifth straight

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The IU South Bend Titans (8-11, 6-2 CCAC) defeated Saint Francis University (12-10, 6-3 CCAC) in four sets, with scores of 25-19, 25-14, 21-25, 28-26. Saturday afternoon’s win moves the Titans into third place in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Titans offense was led by three hitters that finished with at least 14 kills. Junior Abby Seeger led IU South Bend with 16 kills, senior Alexis Issette finished with 15 kills, and senior Amber Jacobs finished with 14 kills.

Setter McKenzie Powell shined in all aspects of the game with 39 assists, 12 digs, and a kill.

Defensive specialists Suriya Van der Oord and Sydney Hanna led the IU South Bend Titans defense with 18 digs each. At the net, Felisha Campanello finished with three blocks while Alexis Joyner posted two.

The IU South Bend Titans return to action on Tuesday, October 4th, as they take on the IU Northwest RedHawks at 8:00 PM. The Titans look to improve their winning streak to five games as well as continue their success in the CCAC, looking for a sixth straight conference victory.
