CHICAGO, Ill. – Two of the starting nine for IU South Bend were recognized as part of the All-CCAC Baseball Team, as senior second baseman Jake Vanderwoude and junior catcher Kole Miller earned the all-conference on Monday.
Vanderwoude earned All-CCAC First Team honors, finishing the season with a .340 average and a team-high .458 on-base percentage. The senior had a nine-game hitting streak from Apr. 5-22, hitting .406 in that stretch, and finished the year by reaching base in 21 of his last 22 games.
Miller joins his teammate as a first-time all-conference award recipient, earning All-CCAC Second Team honors. The junior hit .344 on the season as the Titans’ primary catcher, finishing the year with 14 extra-base hits, two home runs and 23 RBI.
The Titans finished the 2022 season with a 16-32-1 overall record, earning their third straight CCAC Tournament appearance, and fourth overall since the program’s debut in 2016.
