IUSB’s White, HCC’s Sanders Earn First Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors For 2025-26
CHICAGO — An efficient performance from Indiana University South Bend’s Mark White (Indianapolis, Ind.) and a double-double by Holy Cross College’s Jayden Sanders (Evansville, Ind.) have earned the pair the first set of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the 2025-26 season, the league office announced on Tuesday.

In just 15 minutes of action, White put up 26 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 105-63 victory over Wright State University – Lake Campus on Thursday to claim CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition. The sophomore guard converted 69.2 percent of his shots from the field (9-of-13), while also going 4-of-6 on three-pointers and 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.

The game was the first one of the season for the Titans.

Smith averaged 8.5 defensive rebounds and totaled three blocks and two steals to capture the league’s defensive honors. His double-double came on Saturday when he totaled 21 points, 17 rebounds (13 defensive), six assists, two steals and two blocks in a 75-64 win over Andrews University (Mich.).

Earlier in the week, the junior forward put up 17 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one block in an 86-68 decision over East-West University last Wednesday.

The contests were the first two of the 2025-26 campaign for the Saints.

Other Offensive Nominees: Landon Thousand (Viterbo), Cooper Aitken (Calumet St. Joseph), Fernando Perez Jr. (Judson), Maxwell Marius (Governors State), Guillermo Narbona (St. Ambrose), Ike Nwaobi (Saint Xavier), Trey Steinhilber (Indiana Northwest), Donovan Waleskowski (Holy Cross).

Other Defensive Nominees: Vincent Mayes (Governors State), Kyle Olagbegi (Indiana South Bend), Colin Adams (Viterbo), Abdoulaye Ba (Calumet St. Joseph), Hunter Duncan (Judson), Ike Nwaobi (Saint Xavier), Antonio Phillips (Indiana Northwest).
