Baseball Eliminates Top-Seed Huntington from Crossroads League Tournament

UPLAND, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University baseball eliminated No. 1-seed Huntington (Ind.) 10-1 on Saturday in an elimination game of the Crossroads League Tournament in Upland, Indiana. The Wildcat offense scored early and often to beat the top-seed in the tournament and advance to Monday.
EARLY AND OFTEN
Indiana Wesleyan captured an early 3-0 lead with one run in the first inning and two more in the second inning. IWU went on to score in six separate innings, including four in the ninth inning to blow the game wide open.
ACE PERFORMANCE
Jon Young threw 7.0 stellar innings for the Wildcat to improve to 6-3 on the season. He allowed a single run on four hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts. Tanner Killian finished the final 2.0 innings and did not allow a run.
BIG BATS
Indiana Wesleyan outhit Huntington 15-5 and produced six extra base hits in the win. Tye Thixton went 3-for-5 with a walk, two doubles, and two RBI while Brady West and Steven Busby each hit home runs. Caleb Eder, Steven Busby, Nick Coy, and Austin Turner had multi-hit games for the Wildcats.

No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 5 Taylor (Ind.) meet for the second time in the tournament on Monday. The elimination game begins at 1 p.m. in Upland.
