IWU, SHU claim Mideast League awards after wins

With both teams improving to 2-0 in the Mideast League, No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan and Siena Heights take home the MSFA Players of the Week for Week 8.

Offensive Player of the Week
Arjun Lothe, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., QB, Greenwood, Ind. (Hanover [Ind.])

  • Threw for 383 yards and six TDs in No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan’s 56-17 win over Defiance
  • Completed 23 of 33 passes in the win
  • Earns his second consecutive MSFA Player of the Week honor

Defensive Player of the Week
A.J. Knox, Siena Heights
Sr., DL, Rochester, Mich. (Avondale)

  • Recorded three sacks in Siena Heights’ 45-21 win over Madonna
  • Finished with seven tackles, and three tackles for loss
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week award

Special Teams Player of the Week
Josh Clifton, Indiana Wesleyan
Jr., K, Bradley, Ill. (Bradley-Bourbonnais)

  • Was a perfect 8-for-8 on extra points in the Wildcats win over Defiance
  • Set the Indiana Wesleyan program record with his 237 career points
  • Earns his third MSFA Player of the Week award this season, and the eighth of his career
