IWU, SHU earn Mideast League Player of the Week honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Isaac Smith, Indiana Wesleyan
Sr., WR, Flat Rock, Mich. (Huron)

  • Caught seven passes for 150 yards in No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan’s 65-31 win over St. Francis (Ill.)
  • Grabbed two TD passes in the win
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week
Deven Arevalo, Indiana Wesleyan
Sr., DB, Houston Tex., (Trinity International [Ill.])

  • Grabbed two interceptions in the #16 Wildcats’ win over the Saints
  • Returned one pick 58 yards for a TD in the win
  • Wins his second MSFA Player of the Week honor this season

Special Teams Player of the Week
D.J. Young, Siena Heights
Fr., WR, Lafayette, Ind. (Jefferson)

  • Returned his third kickoff return for a TD this season in the Saints’ 61-24 win over Judson
  • Collected 120 all-purpose yards on three kick returns
  • Earns his first career MSFA Player of the Week award
