MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Bethel University Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams have announced Jose Viera Cerame as the new full-time assistant coach to both programs starting in the 2023-24 season.
Cerame comes from the Chicago Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Roosevelt University, where he was the assistant coach for both the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams.
In his playing career, he played his freshman year at the University of Puerto Rico – Humacao Campus, where he was the Libero/Defensive Specialist and Outside Hitter.
In Cerame’s sophomore season to graduation, he transferred to Campbellsville University in Kentucky. As a player, he ended his career with 448 digs, 228 kills, 100 assists, 63 service aces, and 40 blocks.
After graduation, he stayed at Campbellsville as a Graduate Assistant before taking on the assistant role at Roosevelt.
“I am excited for the opportunity to be a Bethel Pilot. I see the opportunity for growth in both programs, and I’m ready to be part of it. My main priority is to guide the student-athletes to become Christian-centered individuals on and off the court. I want to thank the Athletic Director, Tony Natali, for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to be part of the volleyball program. I’m excited to collaborate with head coaches Robert Frost and Eric Snyder to make a name for Bethel University Athletics across the nation. GO PILOTS!” said Cerame.
