FABULOUS FIVE

  1. New Prairie (6-0): Chris Mays rambled 20 times for 195 yards and two scores for the top-ranked (Class 4A) Cougars in their 55-14 win over Adams.
  2. Marian (6-0): Eddie Murphy recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown in the No. 4 (Class 3A) Knights’ 49-0 blanking of Bremen.
  3. Concord (6-0): Jack D’Arcy caught eight passes for 95 yards with a score in the No. 3 (Class 5A) Minutemen’s 29-9 win over Jimtown.
  4. Plymouth (5-1): Ivan Winkle ran 20 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns in the No. 8 (Class 4A) Rockies’ 35-0 blanking of Wawasee.
  5. Warsaw (5-1): Colton Wampler had scoring runs of two and seven yards in the No. 10 (Class 6A) Tigers’ 48-10 win over Goshen.

HONORABLE MENTION

Elkhart Central (5-1): Keegan Collins came up with a fumble recovery, but the No. 6 (Class 5A) Blazers still came up on the short end of a 22-17 decision to Mishawaka.

Mishawaka (4-2): Donovan Snyder had a touchdown and two-point conversion for the Cavemen against Elkhart Central.

NorthWood (4-2): Jason Borkholder caught two passes for 88 yards with a score in the Panthers’ 34-14 win at Northridge.

Riley (4-2): Jalen Cummings found the end zone three times in the Wildcats’ 51-6 win over Clay.

Washington (4-2): Deonte Williams and the Panthers saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with a 28-21 loss at Glenn.

MAKING STRIDES

Glenn (2-4): Chase Howe accounted for a touchdown pass and reception for the Falcons against Washington.

Penn (3-3): Nick Favilla rumbled for 105 yards and a score in the Kingsmen’s 34-2 win at Saint Joseph.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Adams (0-6): Ira Armstead threw for 236 yards Sydney Jeffries returned an interception and kickoff for scores and also caught a 27-yard touchdown pass for the Eagles against Penn.

Bremen (2-4): Brady Ginter came up with 10 rushes for 54 yards for the Lions against Marian.

Clay (1-5): Shamar Edwards and the Colonials managed just six points against Riley, which was the fourth time they scored seven or less points this season.

Elkhart Memorial (1-5): Derek Woods had a school-record 98-yard touchdown run in the Chargers’ 9-7 loss to Culver Academy.

Goshen (1-5): Wesley VanHooser finished with eight carries for 120 yards and a touchdown for the RedHawks against Warsaw.

Jimtown (2-4): Ethan DuVal tallied 17 rushes for 75 yards for the Jimmies against Concord.

Northridge (3-3): Oliver Eveler completed 11-of-22 for 172 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders against NorthWood.

Saint Joseph (0-6): Matt Eck was 17-of-33 for 171 yards for the Indians against Penn.

Wawasee (1-5): Kameron Salazar managed just five carries for 12 yards for the Warriors against Plymouth.

STAY TUNED

Concord (6-0) at Plymouth (5-1): The Rockies have dropped three of the last five meetings with Concord.

Culver Academy (3-3) at Marian (6-0): The Eagles have taken four of the previous seven matchups against Marian.

Penn (3-3) at New Prairie (6-0): Last year’s 35-7 win over New Prairie was the only game in which the Kingsmen had a halftime lead.

Riley (4-2) at Jimtown (2-4): The Wildcats are looking to make it three straight wins over Jimtown.

Washington (4-2) at Bremen (2-4): The Panthers have dropped three contests in a row to Bremen.
