FABULOUS FIVE

  1. NorthWood (8-0): Owen Roeder was 9-of-18 for 131 yards with four scores in the No. 3 (Class 4A) Panthers’ 57-0 blanking of Wawasee to clinch a share of the Northern Lakes Conference title.
  2. Mishawaka (7-1): Chase Gooden raced for 151 yards on 13 carries for the No. 5 (Class 5A) Cavemen in their 15-11 win over Concord.
  3. Penn (6-2): Vince Horner had an interception as the Kingsmen earned a share of the Northern Indiana Conference’s East-West Division with a 21-0 blanking of New Prairie.
  4. New Prairie (7-1): Hayden Scott’s interception was one of the few bright spots for the No. 5 (Class 4A) Cougars against Penn.
  5. Elkhart (7-1): Quinn Rost scampered 43 yards for a score in the Lions’ 35-0 win over Marian.

HONORABLE MENTION

Bremen (4-4): Lance Moser’s 147 yards on the ground was not enough for the Lions in their 40-15 loss to Riley.

Jimtown (6-2): Conner Watts tallied a pair of touchdowns in the Jimmies’ 35-28 win over Adams.

Northridge (5-3): McClain Miller rambled 10 times for 172 yards with two scores in the Raiders’ 49-0 win over Plymouth.

Riley (5-3): Robert Nabieu recorded 26 carries for 312 yards with four touchdowns for the Wildcats against Bremen.

Warsaw (6-2): Reed Zollinger ran for 63 yards and found the end zone twice in the Tigers’ 43-7 win over Goshen.

MAKING STRIDES

Glenn (4-4): Jaime Gierlowski registered six tackles in the Falcons’ 49-6 win over Clay to snap a four-game losing streak.

Washington (2-6): Devin Devries came up with a 41-yard touchdown run in the Panthers’ 33-8 win over Bowman Academy.

HELP WANTED

Adams (1-7): Adreon Petty hauled in a 36-yard touchdown pass for the Eagles against Jimtown.

Clay (0-8): Jimmy Fox tossed for 90 yards with a touchdown for the Colonials against Glenn.

Concord (3-5): Armen Koltookian came up with a 20-yard touchdown catch as well as a two-point conference reception for the Minutemen against Mishawaka.

Goshen (2-6): Elliot Fry accounted for the RedHawks’ lone score with a six-yard scamper against Warsaw.

Marian (2-6): Kaden Middleton came up with three receptions for 49 yards for the Knights against Elkhart.

Plymouth (0-8): Aiden Blaylock caught three passes for 32 yards for the Rockies against Northridge.

Saint Joseph (2-6): Sam Sparks snatched an interception in the Indians’ 7-0 loss to Benet Academy (Ill.).

Wawasee (1-7): Cameron Zimmerman ran eight times for 32 yards for the Warriors against NorthWood.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

Elkhart (7-1) at New Prairie (7-1): The Lions or New Prairie can still earn a share of the NIC East-West Division title if Adams is able to beat Penn.

Goshen (2-6) at NorthWood (8-0): The Panthers can claim the outright NLC crown with a win over Goshen.

Riley (5-3) at Jimtown (6-2): The Jimmies can win the outright NIC North-South Division championship with a triumph over Riley.

Saint Joseph (2-6) at Marian (2-6): In the battle for the Holy War, the Knights have won the last three meetings over Saint Joseph.

Warsaw (6-2) at Northridge (5-3): The Raiders are looking to halt a four-game losing skid to Warsaw.
