FABULOUS FIVE

  1. Penn (9-0): John White returned an interception 53 yards for a touchdown as the No. 5 (Class 6A) Kingsmen claimed the Northern Indiana Conference crown with a 38-6 win over No. 5 (Class 4A) Saint Joseph.
  2. Mishawaka (7-1): Ethan Flowers dove one yard for a score as the No. 3 (Class 4A) Cavemen clinched the Northern Lakes Conference title with a 36-14 win over Wawasee.
  3. Concord (8-1): Derek Gomez ran six times for 63 yards with two touchdowns and caught three passes for 60 yards with another tally in the No. 7 (Class 5A) Minutemen’s 45-14 win over Plymouth.
  4. Knox (9-0): Ashton Walker scampered 13 yards for a score in the No. 4 (Class 3A) Redskins’ 64-0 win over Bowman Academy.
  5. Saint Joseph (8-1): Cole Penn came up with 45-yard interception return for a score for the Huskies against Penn.

HONORABLE MENTION

Bremen (5-4): Jace Pippenger snagged a 57-yard touchdown pass in the Lions’ 31-7 loss at Tippecanoe Valley.

Elkhart (6-3): Micah Jarrell threw for 91 yards with a touchdown pass and ran for 42 yards with two more scores in the Lions’ 21-0 win over Adams.

NorthWood (5-4): Ethan Miller raced nine times for 75 yards with two scores and caught a two-yard pass in the Panthers’ 49-24 win over Goshen.

Tippecanoe Valley (7-2): Jamison Phillips amassed five carries for 67 yards with a touchdown and hauled in a 63-yard pass for the Vikings against Bremen.

Warsaw (6-3): Tucker Reed had an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and added four carries for 39 yards in the Tigers’ 34-19 win over Northridge.

MAKING PROGRESS

Jimtown (2-7): Cooper Dillenbeck caught two passes for 23 yards, including the go-ahead 18-yard touchdown, as the Jimmies halted a five-game losing skid with a 27-24 win over Lakeland.

New Prairie (3-6): Lucas Halderman totaled 15 carries for 126 yards in the Cougars’ 44-35 win over Washington.

Riley (4-5): With their 25-17 victory, the Wildcats snapped a seven-game losing streak against Marian.

LaVille (5-4): Brock Gest ended with two carries for 58 yards with two scores in the Lancers’ 70-7 win over Whiting.

NEEDS SOME WORK

Adams (4-5): Jeffrey Seitz came up with four receptions for 19 yards for the Eagles against Elkhart.

Glenn (2-7): With their 19-7 loss to Culver Academy, the Falcons have now dropped five straight contests and been limited to seven or fewer points in three straight contests.

Goshen (2-7): Colton Rapp ended with five catches for 80 yards with a score against NorthWood.

Marian (2-7): Terrance Lane ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Knights against Riley.

Northridge (2-7): Hayden Gorball hauled in three passes for 38 yards with a score for the Raiders against Warsaw.

Plymouth (3-6): Ben Shively went 9-of-17 for 86 yards with a score and ran 20 times for 73 yards for the Rockies against Concord.

Washington (2-7): Jaydon Lineberry racked up over 200 receiving yards with three touchdowns for the Panthers against New Prairie.

Wawasee (1-8): Kaden Andrew romped 31 yards for a score for the Warriors against Mishawaka.

STAY TUNED

LaVille (5-4) at Culver (3-6) (Class 1A Sectional 41): The Lancers are going for their 13th straight victory over Culver.

Marian (2-7) at River Forest (4-5) (Class 3A Sectional 25): The Knights are looking for their first sectional crown since 2021, while River Forest’s last title came in 1990.

Mishawaka (8-1) at NorthWood (5-4) (Class 4A Sectional 18): The Cavemen have taken five of the previous seven meetings against NorthWood, including the last three in a row.

Riley (4-5) at Saint Joseph (8-1) (Class 4A Sectional 18): The Huskies have outscored Riley, 85-6, over their last three matchups.

Tippecanoe Valley (7-2) at Angola (4-5) (Class 3A Sectional 26): The Vikings are in pursuit of their first sectional championship since 1992, while Angola’s last trip to the winner’s circle came in 2018.
