Plymouth – They took turns scoring in the first half, but Ancilla (13-12, 7-8) played some defense in the third quarter and blew open a close game to win 102-74 over Jackson College, Wednesday night.

The teams took turns scoring in the first quarter, as Ancilla went on runs of eight and seven points and Jackson (11-12, 10-5) strung together a 17-0 run of their own in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association game at the LifePlex.

Ancilla owed the third quarter, as they outscored their opponents 35-14. LaRae Rascoe was a big reason for that as she scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, six steals and seven assists.  Rascoe set a career record in steals and now has 186, surpassing the old record of 180 steals set by Khadijah Moore of Elkhart in 2014-15.

Talia Bee had 25 points, with Cierra Spearman coming off the bench to score 21. Jaela Meister fought the taller Jets and scored 15.

Ancilla is on the road at Grand Rapids on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start. As we near the end of the conference season the Lady Chargers are fighting for seeding in the conference tournament,
