Late Goal by Sayeed Gives Holy Cross Men’s Soccer 1-1 Draw

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College men’s soccer team hosted the Grey Wolves of Lourdes University this evening in a non-conference matchup. Lourdes got on the board first with a goal scored in the 8th minute of action. Despite some aggressive offensive attacks by the Saints, the goal would stand as Holy Cross would trail 1-0 after the first half. Isaias Rubio provided a spark for the Saints in the 64th minute, when he saved a penalty kick attempt by the Grey Wolves. Fifteen minutes later in the 79th minute, Isa Sayeed found the back of the net off a long throw in by Martin von Thun. They would be the equalizing goal as the game would end in a 1-1 draw. With the tie, Holy Cross stands at 2-2-1 while Lourdes moves to 0-1-2
