MARIAN TOPS CROSSROADS LEAGUE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PRESEASON POLL

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its 2022-2023 Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll and Preseason All-League Team on Wednesday, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Marian was once again selected as the preseason favorite, after having won or shared the regular season title in each of the past seven years. The Knights were followed closely by Indiana Wesleyan in the poll, with Mount Vernon Nazarene, Saint Francis, Grace and Taylor separated by six points from third to sixth.

The Preseason All-Crossroads League First-Team was headlined by a trio of returning NAIA All-Americans, with Ella Collier of Marian, Maggie Coe of Mount Vernon Nazarene and Maddie Ryman of Grace making the list. Cassidy Crawford (USF), Kellie Damman (IWU), Lilli Frasure (IWU), Taylor Westgate (TU) and Kinnidy Garrard (MU) also were named as Preseason All-CL First-Team selections.

The 2022-2023 season is set to open on Thursday, October 27, with the first league games slated for Wednesday, November 16.
