MATT’S MATCHUPS 2024-25 HOOPS – STATE FINALS

Things went very well as I went 20-4 (83 percent) last week. Heading into the final week, my overall record is now 393-93, which keeps me at 81 percent for the season.

CLASS 4A

Fishers (30-0) vs. Jeffersonville (23-5): Millen McCartney poured in 14 points in the No. 1 and defending state champion Tigers’ 73-48 win over No. 4 Crown Point. Terrence Nord added eight points in the No. 7 Red Devils’ 56-49 win over Lawrence North. Matt’s pick: Fishers 77, Jeffersonville 64.

CLASS 3A

Saint Joseph (26-3) vs. Indianapolis Crispus Attucks (22-6): Ethan Roseman tallied 12 points in the No.2 and defending state runner-up Huskies’ 84-72 win over East Chicago Central. Kayden English chipped in 11 points in the No. 8 Tigers’ 67-49 win over No. 3 New Palestine. Matt’s pick: Crispus Attucks 69, Saint Joseph 63.

CLASS 2A

Manchester (25-2) vs. University (20-9): Gavin Betten’s 22 points lifted the No. 3 Squires to a 53-50 win over No. 6 Gary 21st Century. Blake Gray paved the way with 19 points in the Trailblazers’ 53-47 win over No. 4 Parke Heritage. Matt’s pick: Manchester 62, University 54.

CLASS 1A

Clinton Prairie (26-2) vs. Orleans (24-4): Alex Farley netted 16 points in the No. 3 Gophers’ 73-59 win over No. 7 Kouts. Rylan Crocker chipped in 10 points in the No. 4 Bulldogs’ 50-46 win against top-ranked Clay City. Matt’s pick: Clinton Prairie 51, Orleans 50.
