MATT’S MATCHUPS 2025-26 HOOPS – WEEK FOUR

It was another average performance as I went 15-6 (71 percent) last week. My overall record is now 41-15, which is good for 73 percent.

TUESDAY

Elkhart (2-2) at Tippecanoe Valley (0-4): The Vikings stormed past Elkhart, 53-41, a year ago. Kaleb Anderson-Mitchell netted 16 points in the Lions’ 50-47 overtime win at Angola. Owen Omandi’s 26 points were not enough in Tippecanoe Valley’s 62-57 overtime loss to defending Class 2A state champion Manchester. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 53, Tippecanoe Valley 49.

Jimtown (4-1) at NorthWood (2-2): The Panthers cruised to a 61-26 win over Jimtown last season. Jackson Woolwine managed nine points in the Jimmies’ 52-43 win over LaVille. Mason Pearson canned seven points in NorthWood’s 47-42 loss to Fairfield. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 44, NorthWood 41.

Mishawaka (1-2) at Michigan City (2-2): The Wolves clawed their way to a 59-54 win over Mishawaka last year. Colten Handley accounted for six points in the Cavemen’s 72-59 loss to Marian. Nick Stewart poured in 14 points in Michigan City’s 69-24 win over Hammond Central. Matt’s pick:  Michigan City 63, Mishawaka 52.

Oregon-Davis (1-5) at New Prairie (1-4): The Cougars earned a 57-32 win over Oregon-Davis during the 2024-25 campaign. The Bobcats were limited to five points in the second quarter of their 55-36 loss to Wheeler. Eli McDonald added three points in New Prairie’s 57-38 loss to Jimtown. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 43, Oregon-Davis 35.

WEDNESDAY

Washington (1-2) at Northridge (5-0): The Raiders rolled to a 77-58 win over Washington a season ago. Nehemiah Wheeler chipped in four points in the Panthers’ 83-51 loss to Goshen. Brady Scholl contributed 14 points in Northridge’s 43-31 win over Brownsburg. Matt’s pick: Northridge 69, Washington 54.

Wabash (1-3) at Plymouth (1-4): The Pilgrims were a 43-32 winner over Wabash in their last meeting. Noah Baldwin recorded 14 points in the Apaches’ 45-41 win over Maconaquah. Grady Scott ended with three points in Plymouth’s 74-35 loss to defending Class 3A state champion Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: Plymouth 50, Wabash 47.
