GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen College athletic department and head softball coach Juliaclare Plezbert announced the addition of catcher Ashley Glazer to its 2020 recruiting class on Tuesday.
Glazer comes to GC from San Marcos, California, located north of San Diego. She played at San Marcos High School and with the Breakers travel softball club, where she was a two-year team captain.
“In my 15 years of coaching competitive softball, rarely have I had the pleasure of coaching an individual willing to do so much for her team,” said Greg, San Marcos coach. “In our high school’s national championship season of 2018, Ashley played an integral part of our team’s incredible achievements. Ashley will be a welcomed addition to her team as she plays at the next level.”
“Ashley is a very cerebral young lady with a high softball intellect,” said her club coach. “The program will benefit from her leadership qualities on and off the field. She is a sure-fire coach when her playing days are over.”
A future nursing major, Ashley is the daughter of Jennifer and Harry and is the youngest of two siblings.
“I chose Goshen because of the amazing girls on the softball team and the environment on campus,” Glazer said. “Everyone I met when I came out to visit was so nice and welcoming.”
Meet the Maple Leafs will continue throughout the summer.
