Men’s Basketball Picks Up Road Win in Ohio

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio. – Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball defeated Ohio Christian 85-75 Friday on the back of 20-point performances by Kyle Mangas (22) and Evan Maxwell (21).

Indiana Wesleyan connected on their first 10 shots to build a 26-16 advantage in the first five minutes of the game.
The score was tied at 55 early in the second half when Grant Smith and Evan Maxwell spurred the Wildcats on an 11-0 run. Smith scored seven straight points during the stretch that was book-ended by Maxwell baskets for a 66-55 lead.
Joel Okafor grabbed seven rebounds to match a career-high.
The Wildcats grabbed a season-high 16 offensive rebounds.
COACH TONAGEL SAYS…
“They came at us and we told the guys you will continue to get everyone’s best shot. We need to learn to go on the road and have the right mentalitiy. We couldn’t have played better offensively in the first half and worse defensively. In the second half, we couldn’t play worse offensively but we played really well defensively. It is all about mentality for us.”
