Michigan State’s Cassius Winston named Player of Week; Michigan’s Ignas Brazdeikis earns Freshman of Week

 

Player of the Week

Cassius Winston, Michigan State
G – Jr. – 6-1 – Detroit, Mich. – University of Detroit Jesuit

  • Scored a game-high 24 points, connecting on 8-of-10 shots from the floor, including 6-of-7 from 3-point land, leading the Spartans to an 88-60 victory against Northern Illinois on Saturday
  • Registered seven assists and no turnovers versus the Huskies
  • Marked his fifth 20-plus point game of the season and tied his career high with six 3-pointers
  • Earns his second Big Ten Player of the Week honor of his career and this season

  • The 20-point performance marked the fifth time in his career that he has scored 20-or-more points
  • Finished 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, while also pulling down eight rebounds and adding one assist in 32 minutes of play
