No. 12 Wisconsin drops 3-2 game to No. 4 Notre Dame

Fighting Irish score three in the third to grab the victory
MADISON, Wis. – Cameron Hughes scored in the first period, Tarek Baker scored in the second period, but Notre Dame scored three goals in the third period as Wisconsin men’s hockey (10-8-2, 4-4-1 Big Ten) fell 3-2 to Notre Dame (15-3-1, 9-0-0 Big Ten) on Friday at the Kohl Center.
Wiscosnin was 9-0-2 when leading after two periods, and were 16-0-0 last season when holding an edge to start the final frame.
The Badgers held a 36-32 advantage in shots.
Wisconsin went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed all six of its penalties, though Notre Dame’s first goal came seconds after one power play ended.
Sophomore Jack Berry made 29 saves in goal for the Badgers.
Notre Dame’s victory extended its winning streak to 12 games.
Same two teams meet on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center and the game will air on Fox Sports Wisconsin Plus.
Following tomorrow’s game, a Teddy Bear Toss will take place.
