FORT WAYNE, Ind. — All 16 University of Saint Francis team members scored a least two points and the 14th-ranked Lady Cougars raced to a 93-44 win over Cornerstone University in a Wednesday matinee game at Hutzell Athletic Center.
The home opener was moved from 7 to 3 p.m. to allow the USF volleyball team to play its Crossroads League Tournament match at 7 p.m.
The time didn’t seem to matter to USF, which raced out to a double-digit lead on a Lindley Kistler 3-pointer, 11 points at 20-9 with 3:22 to play in the first quarter. It was part of an 11-0 run and a 16-5 finish to the first quarter for a 27-11 lead after one quarter.
USF continued to build its lead outscoring CU 30-9 in the second quarter for a 57-20 halftime lead and at three different point sthe Lady Cougars led by 51 points in the second half.
Emma Applegate led USF scoring for the second time this season pouring in 19 points in just over 16 minutes of play. She scored 14 points in the first half. Lindley Kistler came off the bench to score 11 of her points by halftime. Lauren McBryar finished with 10 points, all in the first half and Savannah Buck scored 10.
USF shot .593 (16 for 27) in the second half and finished at .544 (37 for 68) for the game.
