GOSHEN, Ind. —The Undefeated Bethel Pilots (7-0, 2-0) now stand at a tie for first in the Crossroads League following their 112-76 win over the Goshen College Maple Leafs (4-4, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon in the Ruth Gunden Gymnasium. The Grace College Lancers also hold a 2-0 record following their 109-76 win over the University of Saint Francis Cougars on Saturday.

Seven Bethel Pilots posted double-digit points, including Freshman Carter Kent (14).

Luke McBride was the leading scorer, shooting 6-9 from the field (66.7%) and 3-5 (60%) from downtown.

Colin Comer tallied seven assists, beating his previous season high of six in Bethel’s Homecoming Weekend matchup against Saint Xavier (Nov. 15).

Comparatively, the Pilots posted nearly double the amount of bench points (48) to the Leafs (26).

Head Coach Steve Drabyn shared, “This was our best game from start to finish both offensively and defensively. We executed offensively at a high level with 32 assists on 42 field goals…with almost nine players in double figures.”

Drabyn continued, “Defensively, we forced them into tough shots and were consistent all game. Our bench came in and gave us great minutes. It was great to see Carter Kent get going from three and Alex Ellenson provide great minutes.”

Overall, the No. 15 Bethel Pilots now rank sixth in the NAIA for team offensive shooting, (239-484 from the field).

Bethel will next face Saint Mary of the Woods College (4-2) on Monday, Nov. 24. The road matchup will take place at 5 PM in the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center.
