No. 22 Taylor Runs Past No. 13 IWU in Top-25 Showdown

UPLAND, Ind. – No. 22 Taylor used a 26-3 run over a nine-minute span to take control early in the second quarter and never looked back in its 68-56 win over No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday night inside Odle Arena. With the victory, TU ended a 17-game losing streak in the cross-county rivalry, as the Trojans’ last win over IWU came on January 20, 2010.

The 22nd-ranked Trojans fell behind, 8-0, in the first 90 seconds, after IWU (14-5, 6-1 CL) knocked down its first three shots from the floor. TU then ripped off its 26-3 run over the final eight minutes of the first quarter and the first minute of the second period to take a 26-11 lead with 9:04 to go in the first half.

Taylor led by no less than nine points and as many as 20 the rest of the way to secure its fifth victory over a Top-25 team this season, matching the program record for most ranked wins in a season. TU defeated five ranked foes during the 2004-2005 season.

Kendall Bradbury led the Trojan scoring with 24 points, her 17th-straight contest with at least 20 points, and pulled down 10 rebounds. Cassidy Wyse notched 19 points on seven-of-13 (53.8 percent) shooting from the floor, while knocking down four triples and grabbing five rebounds.

Josie Cobb added eight points, six rebounds and four assists, and Lauren James contributed five points and an assist in five minutes off the bench in the TU victory.

No. 22 Taylor (12-7, 5-2 CL) will travel to Goshen (1-18, 0-7 CL) on Saturday in its next contest, taking on the Maple Leafs at 1:00 pm.
