IUSB is arguably having one of its best seasons in program history with a 10-1 overall record going 4-1 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, landing the Titans at No. 24 in the recent NAIA D-II Coaches’ Poll. The ranking is the first time under head coach Steve Bruce and the first time since at least the 1999-2000 season.
The Titans welcome Saint Ambrose (4-5, 3-2 CCAC) on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. before playing host to previously ranked Indiana University Northwest (4-6, 2-3 CCAC) on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.
Wednesday’s league battle will be the fifth meeting all-time between the Fighting Bees and the Titans. IUSB is 2-2 overall against SAU, winning the last matchup back on Jan. 19, 2019 inside the SAC by a score of 76-73. Saturday’s contest against the RedHawks will be the first conference matchup between the two teams but the 18th overall. The Titans hold a slight 9-8 advantage in the head-to-head series but have lost the last two contests against IUN.
Senior Kyleigh Kubik leads the Titans with 11.3 points per game this season and ranks 20th in the conference in points per game. Junior Taitlyn Trenshaw is fourth in the CCAC with 4.36 assists per game and has dished out 48 assists through 11 games. Junior forward Courtney Haynes is top on the team with 56 total rebounds and is tied for 30th in the CCAC with 5.1 per game while Trenshaw’s 1.91 steals per game is ninth-best in the league.
