Omaha’s Raabe named 2024 Geri AnnGlasco Memorial Scholarship recipient
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Nebraska Omaha’s Emma Raabe is the 2024 recipient of the Geri Ann Glasco Memorial Scholarship, created in partnership with the Natasha Watley Foundation and the Glasco family. Raabe will receive funding to attend the 2024 NFCA National Convention, Dec. 4-7 at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas.
Reviewed and voted on by the NFCA Awards Committee and Gerry Glasco, the scholarship is awarded to a female member coach who shows a commitment to growing the game of fastpitch in her community and has a need for financial assistance to attend the Convention. It is dedicated to remembering Geri Ann Glasco, an aspiring coach and elite former student-athlete, who lost her life on Jan. 24, 2019 in Lafayette, La.
Raabe will receive a complimentary Convention registration, $700 in travel reimbursement and up to four nights at the Convention’s host hotel.
“What truly sets Emma apart is her profound dedication to everything she undertakes,” said Missouri head coach Larissa Anderson. “She has worked diligently to achieve her goals, often going above and beyond to improve her skills and contribute to her team’s success. Emma’s resilience and hard work are qualities that have not only helped her overcome challenges, but also set a standard for excellence and commitment within the softball community.”
Raabe, who focuses on catchers and infield, while also assisting with hitting is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Mavericks and was instrumental in Omaha’s run to a regional final against her alma mater Missouri.
“Emma’s passion for softball extends beyond her own career,” Anderson stated. “She is deeply invested in the growth of the sport and in supporting others who share her enthusiasm. Attending the NFCA Convention would be an invaluable opportunity for her to further her knowledge, connect with other professionals, and continue her journey of growth both as a coach and as an advocate for the sport. I am confident that Emma will continue to inspire and excel in all her future endeavors.”
Prior to Omaha, Raabe coached with the Nebraska Gold organization and was an assistant at Omaha Marian High School, helping lead the Crusaders to a state title.
Raabe will be recognized on Thursday, Dec. 5 during the Convention’s annual mentoring workshop.
