It is hard to believe, but another high school football season is upon us. As I embark on my 14th season, I will be trying to improve on last year’s record of 206-45, which was good for 82 percent. MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (16-1, 6-1) defeated the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars (11-6, 3-4) 89-88 on Saturday evening in the Gates Gymnasium. The win increases the program's winning streak to five over the Crossroads League opponent, which began with Bethel's home victory (96-89) in the 2023-24 season (Jan. 6, 2024). MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---The Bethel Women's Basketball Team (12-5, 3-4) showcased their highest scoring performance (79-59) against the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars (5-12, 1-6) on Saturday afternoon in the Gates Gymnasium. Previously, the Pilots' biggest win over the Cougars took place on Feb. 1, 2012, in which Bethel triumphed 63-45 at home to win by 18 points.
