Penn State Clinches Share of Big Ten Women’s Soccer Title

Nittany Lions earn a piece of their 19th conference championship

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Penn State women’s soccer team secured a share of the 2018 Big Ten Conference women’s soccer title on Thursday by virtue of its 4-1 win at Indiana. It’s the Nittany Lions’ conference-record 19th Big Ten championship and their first since they shared the 2016 title.

Emily Ogle scored twice and Frankie Tagliaferri added a goal and an assist for Penn State (12-5-0, 8-2-0 Big Ten) in Thursday night’s win at Indiana. The victory gave the Nittany Lions 24 points in conference play this season, three more than Rutgers and Wisconsin with one game remaining in the regular season. PSU will play host to Minnesota in its regular-season finale at 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday, with the game televised live on BTN Plus and available on BTN’s digital platform, BTN2Go, as well as the FOX Sports app.

The Big Ten Tournament will kick off Oct. 28 with quarterfinal games on the campuses of the top four seeds. The semifinals and championship game will be played Nov. 2 & 4 at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, and all three games will be televised live on BTN.

The full Big Ten Tournament bracket will be released following the completion of the regular season on Oct. 24. For more information on the 2018 Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament, visit the official tournament web page at bigten.org/wsoc.
