WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Football fell in its penultimate home game of the 2025 season, 34-10, to No. 1 Ohio State.
Purdue took the lead first when Spencer Porath converted a 40-yard field goal with under five minutes to play in the first quarter. The field goal was Porath’s fourth in his career of 40-plus yards.
During the scoring drive, Ryan Browne connected with Rico Walker on a 30-yard play that nearly doubled Walker’s previous game high of 16 yards with the one reception. Purdue held a 3-0 after the first to hand Ohio State its first deficit after one quarter this season.
After the Buckeyes took a 24-3 lead into halftime, they put together a 15-play drive that lasted 8:34 out of the half before CJ Nunnally IV intercepted the first pass of his career in the end zone. His interception was the first by a Boilermaker defensive lineman since George Karlaftis against TCU in 2019.
The interception helped Purdue hold Ohio State scoreless in the third quarter. It was only the second time the Buckeyes were held scoreless in multiple quarters this season, the other in the season opener against Texas.
Ohio State scored the first 10 points in the fourth quarter before Jesse Watson found the end zone on a seven-yard reception in the final two minutes to make the final score 34-10. The touchdown was Watson’s second of his career, both thrown by Malachi Singleton.
Browne finished the game 10-for-19 with 76 yards and Singleton went 3-for-3 with 18 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Harris led the rushing attack with 13 carries for 45 yards.
Mani Powell (13) and Tahj Ra-El (10) both finished with double digit tackles for the fourth time each this season. It ws Powell’s third time lead Purdue in tackles this season, all in the last five games.
