Purdue Northwest Men’s Soccer Suffers 4-0 Road Loss to SVSU
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Limited to just six total shots and one shot on goal for the game, the Purdue University Northwest men’s soccer team failed to keep pace with Saginaw Valley State University (Mich.) falling 4-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) competition Friday at Braddock Field in University Center, Mich.

The Cardinals scored their first goal in the 11th minute of play off the foot of Alex Gloshen on a cross by Oakley Hanger.  SVSU added a second goal in the 35th minute on a header by Griffin Parks and took the 2-0 lead into halftime.  Less than four minutes into the second half, the Cardinals extended their advantage to 3-0 on a goal by Michael Hamilton.  The game’s final goal came in the 77th minute off a short shot by Saginaw Valley’s Nick Wright.

Senior forward Jose Andriano (Mexico City, Mexico/John F. Kennedy) recorded PNW’s shot on goal in the game.  Freshman Noel Keeble (Dyer, Ind./Home School) started the game in goal and recorded three saves over the first 83 minutes of regulation.  Sophomore Evan Hillier (Highland, Ind./Highland) played the final nearly seven minutes of the game and posted a save.

Purdue Northwest (3-7-2 overall/2-6-1 GLIAC) heads up to Marquette, Mich., to take on Northern Michigan University for a conference battle on Sunday, October 15.  The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT start at the NMU Soccer Field in Marquette.
