Record-Setting Week Leads Francis to TSC Weekly Accolade

LAKELAND, Fla.—In two must-win games, Southeastern men’s basketball senior Quennel Francis had two monster games to help the Fire to a first-round bye in The Sun Conference Tournament.

For his efforts, he was named The Sun Conference Player of the Week.

On Senior Day, Francis lit up the stat sheet to the tune of 41 points and an 11-for-16 performance from 3-point range. In the regular season finale, the Christiansted, Virgin Islands native chipped in 20 points to help the Fire defeat St. Thomas.

For the week, Francis shot 65% from 3-point range and 61.8% from the field.

Prior to this week, Francis had totaled 48 points all season.

The Fire will play in Friday’s second semifinal game against St. Thomas or Ave Maria.
