Roosevelt rolls past IUSB Women’s Soccer

LAKEVILLE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (3-8-1, 0-6-0 CCAC) fell to the Roosevelt University Lakers (4-5-0, 2-3-0) by a score of 7-1.

The first 39 minutes of Tuesday’s contest were scoreless until Roosevelt defender Brenna Rohloff broke the scoreless tie, finding the back of the net to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead.

The Lakers punched in two more goals before the conclusion of the first period to extend the Roosevelt lead to 3-0 going into halftime.

Less than three minutes into the second period, sophomore midfielder Gris Gurrola started the second half scoring, extending the Roosevelt lead to 4-0.

Sophomore Daisy Hernandez-Loya scored for the second time in Tuesday’s contest to further the Lakers lead to 5-0.

Roosevelt found the back of the net two more times to cap off their scoring at 7-0.

In the 73rd minute of the CCAC affair Katie Jones scored on a penalty kick for her seventh goal of the year, shortening the IU South Bend deficit to 7-1 before the Titans fell to the Lakers by that same score.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, October 11th, when they host the Trolls of Trinity Christian College at Newton Park at 5:00 PM.
