The Holy Cross College men’s basketball team put together one of its strongest offensive outings of the season but ultimately came up short in a fast-paced 92–85 loss to Governors State on Tuesday night inside McKenna Arena.

The Saints (4–5) came out firing, shooting an impressive 62.1% from the field in the first half and knocking down 6 threes to take a 48–42 lead into the locker room. The game featured constant momentum swings, with 10 ties and 9 lead changes, as both teams traded big shots throughout.

Jayden Sanders delivered a standout performance, pouring in 28 points on 9-of-17 shooting while going 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. The junior added 4 rebounds and an assist in one of his most efficient scoring nights of the year.

AJ Roseman continued his consistent offensive presence with 18 points5 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Freshman Donovan Waleskowski had another strong outing, scoring 12 points and grabbing 3 rebounds while shooting 4-of-8 from the field.

Davide Brembilla provided an efficient lift with 8 points in 17 minutes, and Beau Barhams added 6 points6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Holy Cross shot 48.3% from the field and a strong 47.4% from three, but the Jaguars countered with an elite shooting night of their own—finishing at 67.9% from the floor and converting 74% in the second half to reclaim control.

Governors State’s ability to score inside and maintain efficiency down the stretch proved to be the difference, as the Saints were held without a field goal in the final 3:32.

Despite the loss, Holy Cross showcased offensive firepower and resilience, keeping pace and battling until the final buzzer.

The Saints will return to the court during an away game on Friday November 28th against NCAA Division 1, Purdue Fort Wayne. Tipoff is set for 2:00PM!
