SAINTS MBB FALL TO LEAGUE-BEST ROOSEVELT IN OVERTIME

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross men’s basketball team continued their conference play today, when they took on Roosevelt University in McKenna Arena. The Saints started off slow offensively and struggled to find their shots early in today’s game.

Despite the slow start, the Saints were able to bring it back within 10 points before halftime. The Saints would trail 31-21 going into halftime. The Saints came out of halftime ready to play and shot very efficiently in the half.

The Saints shot 45% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Phil Robles had a big second half and had 13 points in the game. Storm Cook was able to knock down some big three pointers to give the Saints the lead late in the game.

The Saints would come all the way back and tie the game and send it to overtime tied 61-61. In overtime, the Lakers were able to knock down their shots and ice the game with free throws. The Saints would fall short 75-68 and with the loss, Holy Cross drops to 11-11 overall and 7-8 in conference play, while the Lakers improve to 15-7 and 12-2.
