Scrappy young Titans fall to No.13 Viterbo in four sets to conclude the regular season

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (3-27, 3-11 CCAC) dropped their regular season finale match to the Viterbo University V-Hawks (22-9, 14-0 CCAC) in four sets by final scores of 18-25, 17-25, 25-17, and 17-25.

Tied at 3-3 early in set one, Viterbo scored two straight points to take the lead and they would hold the lead for the remainder of the game. The Titans came within one point of tying the game three separate times but could never tie the game and ultimately dropped set one 25-18.

IU South Bend jumped out to an early 6-5 lead in set two, both teams traded leads until the set became tied at 11-11. After that, The V-Hawks finished the game on a 14-6 run to win set two 25-17.

Set three proved to be all Titans as they gained an 8-2 lead before Viterbo used a timeout. The Titans held on to the lead for the remainder of the game, leading by as many as nine points to go on to win set three 25-17.

IU South Bend led 10-9 in set four before Viterbo rattled off five straight points to gain the lead. The Titans were able to pull within two points at 19-17 before the V-Hawks scored the last six points of the set 25-17 to defeat the Titans in four sets.

The IU South Bend Titans offense was led by Macy Sherman who finished with 10 kills, her fifth time in the last seven games tallying double digit kills. Sophomore Setter Brynn Lake led the passing game with 33 assists while defensive specialist Sydney Hanna led the defense with 24 digs.
