Taylor Ends No. 22 in Final 2022-2023 NAIA Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – The final 2022-2023 NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup point totals were recently announced, with Taylor finishing 22nd out of the 192 institutions in the NAIA to have at least one team compete at a national championship event.

Taylor collected 532.50 points in the standings, hauling in over 200 points in each of the fall and spring seasons. Throughout the year, TU saw eight different teams post a top-25 finish in their respective sport.

The Trojans’ best finish came from the women’s cross country team’s NAIA National Championship, while the baseball program ended fifth. Men’s golf (15th), men’s cross country (16th), volleyball (17th), women’s golf (20th), women’s soccer (21st) and softball (21st) also recorded top-25 finishes.

In all, TU saw 12 of its 18 teams compete at an NAIA National Championship event during the 2022-2023 year, helping achieve Taylor’s fifth-straight finish inside the top-25 in the Directors’ Cup.

Points for the Directors’ Cup are based on finishes at national championship events for up to 13 sports per institution. Each school’s point total value must include results from men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer and volleyball, with additional points coming from the school’s next highest nine sports.
