The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, in partnership with Henry Community Health, offers free museum admission and field trips to all guests.

(NEW CASTLE, Indiana) September 4, 2025 – The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame now offers free field trips in addition to our free museum admission, thanks to our extended partnership with Henry Community Health.

On December 12, 2024, when the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame opened the new expansion, it was also announced that all museum admission would be free thanks to an increased partnership with Henry Community Health.  As the new school year has just begun, the Hall of Fame also wants to extend free field trips to any school group to visit our storied museum, as well.

Explore the history of basketball through the lens of outstanding teams and players, and discover the life lessons that shaped their successes.  Students will explore the important life lessons and values inherent in athletic participation – like John Wooden’s renowned advice and the History of Title IX and Women’s basketball in Indiana.

Not only does the Hall of Fame offer our guided led tours, but new this year – the Hall of Fame now offers rich opportunities for cross-curricular learning in Math, Reading, Writing, and Social Studies (Field Trip/Curriculum Guide is attached).  The HOF can tailor these learning experiences to any age group; 4th grade Indiana history classes, middle school, high school, or any other group that would like to learn about the history and stories of Indiana high school basketball.

If coming to the museum isn’t an option, we would also love to visit your school as a mobile field trip.  The Hall would send a guest speaker to your school and talk about the history of Indiana high school basketball, along with artifacts from our museum – again, at no cost to you!

We would love to see your school take an exciting and learning filled field trip to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in New Castle!  To schedule your field trip, give us a call at 765-529-1891 or email [email protected] .

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, established in 1962, seeks to enhance the role of basketball in Indiana by honoring those high school basketball players, coaches, officials and others who gained fame on the hardwoods of Indiana and in subsequent years have reflected honor upon themselves and the Indiana basketball community.  Since 1990, the organization has maintained a museum in New Castle dedicated to the history of basketball in Indiana.
