Chambers Repeats as CCAC Defensive Player of the Week
CHICAGO — Defensive prowess has been a staple for Bradie Chambers, who was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced Tuesday.
Chambers continued her dominant start to the season, recording multiple steals in each of the Titans’ first five games and totaling 17 takeaways so far this year. The senior forward played a key role in a pair of bouts last week, including in their conference opener.
In a nonconference victory over Lawrence Tech, Chambers filled the stat sheet with 25 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. She followed with another all-around performance in the win over St. Ambrose, tallying 17 points, four steals, four assists, and two rebounds.
For the week, Chambers averaged 21 points per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the field, complementing her trademark defensive intensity with strong offensive production.
This marks Chambers’ second-straight CCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor, further establishing her as one of the conference’s most impactful two-way players.
IU South Bend continues conference play on Wednesday, facing IU Northwest at 5:30 pm.
