TITANS CRUISE PAST CARDINALS EARNING FOURTH VICTORY OF THE SEASON​

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend men’s basketball earned its fourth victory of the season, cruising past Andrews University, 90-57, on Tuesday evening. The Titans improve to 4-1 overall with a 2-1 record inside the Student Activities Center.

As a team IUSB connected on a season-high 11 three-pointers led by four from junior Sergio Diaz and three from both junior teammates Dylan Allen and Norell Smith. Allen led all Titans with 15 points off five-of-eight shooting on Tuesday, including a pair of free-throws.

Senior Kourtlandt Martin nearly missed out on a triple-double with 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the Titans shot 55.4 percent while the Cardinals were held to 42.9 percent from the field.

IUSB forced 24 Cardinal turnovers that led to 32 points while only committing 13 turnovers as a team. The Titans outmatched AU in almost every category including total rebounds, 33-30, assists, 23-11, blocks, 3-0, steals, 15-6 and bench points, 33-7.

Andrews University jumped out early with a 6-3 lead until the Titans rallied off 13 straight points and never looked back. At the half, IUSB took a 21-point advantage into the locker room before outscoring AU by 12 in the second stanza to seal its fourth victory of the season.

The Titans hit the road, travelling to Northwestern Ohio on Friday, Nov. 8 to face the Racers at 7 p.m. in Lima, Ohio for their third road challenge of 2019.
